Fishing Licence: How to Do It Yourself

If you need a fishing licence and are on a budget, the best option is to do it yourself. After Covid, access to all public buildings requires an appointment. If you’re a tourist, you can show up without an appointment and they will probably let you in, or schedule an appointment for the next day. You need to explain that you will be going home soon.

Canary Islands Fishing Licence

Getting a licence is a straightforward process:

1. Go to the nearest fishing office. To make an appointment, you must know Spanish (phone +34 928 301012 option no. 6).
2. Pick up and fill out an application form
3. Pick up the fishing fee form which the fishing officer will give you.
4. Run to the bank to pay the fees.
5. Return to the fishing office and collect your licence

Remember to take your passport or national ID card.

For the rest of Spain, follow the same process. Show up early at the nearest fishing office, fill out the forms, pay the fees, and collect your licence.
